About v02 Studio

Built for small businesses that need more than a homepage

v02 Studio is an independent web design and development studio in Melbourne, helping Australian small businesses turn their websites into something genuinely useful.

A good business should not look smaller online than it really is

I grew up with the internet as a constant. Over time, I watched it move from somewhere people visited into the place where they discover businesses, compare them and decide who they trust.

For most businesses, being online is no longer optional. The website, search result or social profile is often the first experience a customer has with the business. Sometimes it is the only chance to make the shortlist.

But too many capable small businesses are still being represented by websites that no longer reflect the quality of what they do. Some are difficult to find. Some look almost identical to their competitors. Others technically exist, but do little to help the owner earn trust, answer questions or turn interest into action.

That gap is why I started v02 Studio.

I want good small businesses to have the same clarity, capability and standard of digital work that larger companies take for granted, without the layers, handovers and overhead of a traditional agency.

In practice that might mean becoming easier to find on Google, giving customers a reason to trust you, turning more visits into real enquiries, or building a smarter way to handle the work happening behind the scenes.

A website should earn its place in the business

A beautiful website matters. People make judgements quickly, and design shapes how credible, established and considered a business feels. But appearance is only the beginning.

A useful website should help the right people find you. It should answer the questions standing between interest and trust. It should guide visitors towards a sensible next step, and it should make running the business easier rather than creating another thing to maintain.

That is why v02 projects bring strategy, design, development and SEO together from the start. The goal is not to decorate a collection of pages. It is to understand what the business needs the website to do, then build around that job.

Sometimes the answer is a focused service website. Sometimes it includes applications, bookings, interactive tools, content systems or a more tailored workflow. The scope changes. The standard does not.

Built from inside a small business, not from a pitch deck

Yokiko Shiba Inu, built from no website to a complete customer journey.

Yokiko began without a website, an established name or an existing stream of enquiries. The project started with the commercial foundations: how the breeder should position itself, what prospective owners needed to know, what would create trust and how search could compound over time.

The result became much more than a homepage. The site grew into a complete customer journey with educational resources, a puppy application process, an interactive breed-compatibility quiz and an SEO structure built around the questions real buyers were asking.

Working that closely with a breeder also exposed a different problem. Important records, litter information, health schedules, waitlists and compliance tasks were scattered across spreadsheets, documents and memory.

That need led me to begin building KennelOS, a breeder-focused business system designed around the actual litter lifecycle. It is a larger product than a normal website project, but it reflects the same principle: technology is most valuable when it removes friction from real work.

Not every small business needs custom software. Every small business does deserve a website shaped around how it actually operates.

One person across the whole build

v02 is a small studio by design. When you work with me, the person discussing the business with you is also the person shaping the strategy, designing the experience and building the final site. There is no account-manager relay and no gap between what was promised and what reaches development.

Strategy

Clarifying the audience, the offer, the buying journey and the role the website needs to play.

Design

Creating a distinct visual system that feels appropriate to the business, not borrowed from the nearest template.

Development

Building fast, responsive and maintainable websites with the functionality the project actually needs.

SEO

Giving every build a clear technical and content foundation so search visibility can grow over time.

For Australian small businesses with somewhere to go

v02 works best with owner-led businesses that care about what they are building and know their current online presence is no longer enough.

You might

  • be starting properly for the first time.
  • have outgrown a basic website.
  • offer excellent work but struggle to explain why customers should choose you.
  • have a process that still depends on too many forms, inboxes and spreadsheets.

Animal businesses are a natural area of experience, including breeders, vets, groomers, trainers and other trust-led services. The studio is also open to good businesses in other industries where thoughtful design, custom development and long-term search visibility can make a meaningful difference.

I am based in Melbourne and work with small businesses across Australia.

Small studio. Serious standard.

Useful before impressive

Creative work should still solve the right problem. A memorable interaction is valuable when it improves the experience, not when it gets in the visitor's way.

Built with you, not around you

You understand the business. I bring the strategy, design, technical structure and outside perspective. The strongest result uses both.

Clear enough to be challenged

Recommendations should have a reason behind them. I will explain the trade-offs, say when an idea is unlikely to help and change direction when the evidence points somewhere better.

Made to keep working

Launch is a starting point. The structure should support new content, changing services and better decisions as real customer and search data begins to arrive.

Your business has outgrown the basic homepage. Let’s build what comes next.

You do not need to arrive with a sitemap, a technical brief or all the answers. Tell me about the business, what is changing and where the current setup is falling short. We can work out the right shape from there.
